Mixed Age

classes are for children 5 months to 5 years and are 45 minutes long. Classes are very interactive and are lead by a teacher and a back-up musician. We use lots of child-friendly instruments and props in class and we encourage participation from the children in whatever way they can. There is no right or wrong way for them to enjoy the music. We incorporate a lot of movement in class, so be ready for some big time fun with your little one! All children must attend with an actively participating grown-up.

NEW!! -- Old Schoolers

is a special class designed with the 3-4 year old child in mind. This class is for children who have been with us (or another Aardvarks program if you are just moving here) for at least 1 to 2 semesters (Aardvark veterans!) and they are ready for even more musical exploration and expression as a group. Children at this age can and want to contribute more to the class as they learn, grow and engage in singing, dancing, instrument playing, and large movement activities. Expect even more exciting musical fun as we let all of our imaginations soar! Children must attend with an actively participating adult. Parents who have asked us to add this kind of class, please keep in mind we are aware you may have younger siblings. While the class will be focused on the older children, we will be flexible and allow for some younger siblings if needed. Also keep in mind all 3-4 year old children are welcome and encouraged to join our Mixed Age classes if that is what works best with your schedule.

Baby Beats

is a fun introduction to music, instruments and the Music for Aardvarks program. We gear the class for 5 – 12 months olds. A great way to meet new parents if this is your first child. Have fun with your baby as you both experience some wonderful music and smiles. Proud grandparents are always welcome guests. Children ages 5 -12 months are always welcome in our mixed age classes. You do not have to start the program in a Baby Beats class. !

Private Piano and Drum Lessons!

We are excited to offer one-on-one music instruction at our Waldwick Superdome Complex location for your child ages 6 years and up. Accomplished musician and talented back-up guitarist in our Aardvark program, Pat Van Dyke will teach private, half-hour lessons on piano and drums Monday through Thursday. Lessons are open to all levels from the complete beginner to the more advanced student. Areas of focus will include reading, technique, rhythm, theory, and of course having FUN! Lessons will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis starting each day at 2:30pm. The fee for the 10 weeks of private lessons is $350. Don’t worry if you miss a lesson! Just as with our other classes, you are allowed 2 make-up lessons per semester, but you must let us know 24 hours in advance of a missing a lesson. You will not be allowed a make-up for a “no-show” and you have 2 weeks after the missed lesson to take advantage of a make-up. Pajama Jam is fun for the whole family! 45 minutes of singing, dancing, and playing for children 3 months to 6 years and their grown-ups (moms, dads, grandma's, grandpa's, aunts, uncles - everyone has told us how much fun they have)! Join the band for a rockin good time! We schedule Pajama Jams on weekday evenings and the kids can have fun jammin' in their jammies!
