Mixed Age classes are geared toward children 5 months – 5 years and are 45 minutes. All children must attend with an actively participating grown-up. Classes feature a teacher and a back-up musician!
Big Kid Rock is for the older preschooler (4 to 6 years old*) who is ready for some big musical fun. We help the children to let their imaginations soar, enabling their own rhythms and ideas to flow. We know kids at this age want to be active, so expect more moving and grooving than ever! They will sing, dance, play instruments, and have tons of fun! This is a Drop Off class and is more individually focused, so class size is limited. Parents are encouraged to stay close because we often invite you to participate in some of the dancing and the quiet time at the end of the class. The Superdome complex has a great café you can relax in and then come join us! Class size is limited to 8 children.
*BKR at the YJCC is a special enrichment class open to those children enrolled in the YJCC preschool. If space is available, it will be opened to the general public. Please contact the YJCC for registration information.
Baby Beats is a fun introduction to music, instruments and the Music for Aardvarks program. We gear the class for 5 – 12 months olds. A great way to meet new parents if this is your first child. Have fun with your baby as you both experience some wonderful music and smiles. Proud grandparents are always welcome guests. Children ages 5 -12 months are always welcome in our mixed age classes. You do not have to start the program in a Baby Beats class. !

Private Piano and Drum Lessons! We are excited to offer one-on-one music instruction at our Waldwick Superdome Complex location for your child ages 6 years and up. Accomplished musician and talented back-up guitarist in our Aardvark program, Pat Van Dyke will teach private, half-hour lessons on piano and drums Monday through Thursday. Lessons are open to all levels from the complete beginner to the more advanced student. Areas of focus will include reading, technique, rhythm, theory, and of course having FUN! Lessons will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis starting each day at 2:30pm. The fee for the 10 weeks of private lessons is $350. Don’t worry if you miss a lesson! Just as with our other classes, you are allowed 2 make-up lessons per semester, but you must let us know 24 hours in advance of a missing a lesson. You will not be allowed a make-up for a “no-show” and you have 2 weeks after the missed lesson to take advantage of a make-up. Pajama Jam is fun for the whole family! 45 minutes of singing, dancing, and playing for children 3 months to 6 years and their grown-ups (moms, dads, grandma's, grandpa's, aunts, uncles - everyone has told us how much fun they have)! Join the band for a rockin good time! We schedule Pajama Jams on weekday evenings and the kids can have fun jammin' in their jammies!
